Your Expertise Deserves Visibility. Food industry experts, advisors and service providers are essential to innovation, compliance, quality, safety, and growth - yet most remain difficult for companies to find. Surch Foods changes that by giving food industry experts a professional, structured, and discoverable profile inside the industry’s first connected sourcing ecosystem. When you create your Experts profile, you instantly become visible to manufacturers, buyers, suppliers, brands, and foodservice operators searching for expertise just like yours. Visibility starts here.

Build a Profile That Gets You Discovered

Your Expert Profile is often the first impression. These steps will help you showcase your experience clearly and attract qualified industry inquiries.

Step 1: Enable Your Expert Profile

  • You can find the Expert Profile toggle at the bottom of your personal account settings. Simply switch it on to activate your consultant profile.
  • Once enabled, your Expert Profile will appear in the left-hand dropdown menu, giving you direct access to complete and manage your expert listing.

Step 2: Start With the Basics

  • Upload a professional headshot that’s clear and approachable or a high resolution image of your logo.
    • 256 x 256 Pixels/2MB Limit PNG/JPG/SVG/WEBP
  • Add a concise tagline that reflects your role and focus. This will appear in the search by your name.
  • Check out some others to see how they read. Ex. Turning R&D concepts into scalable, retail-ready products.

These are the first elements users see in search results - make them count.

Step 3: Write About ► Your Expertise

This section introduces you to potential clients. Focus on:

  • Your years of experience
  • Core areas of expertise
  • Who you help (manufacturers, retailers, foodservice, startups, etc.)
  • The outcomes you help achieve

Tip: Write for your client, not your résumé. Be clear, confident, and specific.

Step 4: Add Your Website, LinkedIn & Availability

  • In this step, add your website and LinkedIn profile so potential clients can learn more about your background and experience.
  • Select the regions you’re available to work in and toggle Remote / Virtual Work if you offer services beyond in-person engagements.

Toggle On / Off - whether you are available for remote/virtual work.

► Click Save once you’ve finished to ensure your updates are captured.

Step 5: Define Your Services and Areas of Focus

  • Project Types - Choose the types of projects you can work on (e.g. audits, advisory, scale-up support, training, commercialization). This helps clients understand the kind of work you’re open to.
  • Level of Engagement - Indicate how you typically work with clients, such as short-term projects, ongoing support, or strategic advisory. This sets clear expectations around commitment and involvement.
  • Industries Served - Select the industries and sectors you have experience supporting. This allows users to quickly see where your expertise is most relevant.
  • Service Offerings - Add the specific services you provide (e.g., product development & formulation, continuous improvement, commercialization/scale-up, regulatory support, costing & pricing, supplier sourcing, retail readiness). This is where you clearly spell out what you do so clients can quickly match their needs to your expertise.

This helps users to quickly understand how you work and whether your expertise is the right fit for their needs.

Toggle On / Off - whether you are taking on new projects.

► Click Save once you’ve finished to ensure your updates are captured.

Step 6: Upload Certifications & Credentials

If applicable, list:

  • Professional certifications
  • Training credentials
  • Industry affiliations

These reinforce credibility and help buyers feel confident reaching out.

Step 7: Showcase Your Impact with Testimonials & Reviews

Testimonials are a powerful ways to build trust and stand out as an expert on Surch Foods. Use this section to highlight real feedback that reinforces your credibility and the results you deliver.

  • How to enter testimonials - Add 1-3 sentences. Focus on the result (e.g., cut changeover time by 22%). Keep them concise and focused on outcomes or expertise rather than long stories.
  • Who to use for testimonials - Choose past clients, industry partners, or companies you’ve supported who can speak to your professionalism, knowledge, and impact.
  • What to focus on - Highlight results, problem-solving, reliability, and industry expertise (e.g. audit success, smoother launches, decreased timelines, improved compliance, or operational improvements).

Strong testimonials differentiate you from other experts with similar credentials.

Step 8: Who Trusts Your Expertise

Client logos communicate credibility and help your profile stand out at a glance. Adding them gives users a quick, visual snapshot of the organizations you’ve supported.

  • Highlight recognizable brands to build immediate trust and authority
  • Show the scope of your experience across different company sizes or sectors

Step 9: Show Your Work in Action

Your Projects section is where clients see real proof of what you’ve delivered.

Add Project Listings (like mini case studies):

  • Create a Project title that’s specific (ex: Bench-to-Production Scale-Up | Wirecut Cookies).
  • Write a short description that covers: the goal, what you did, and the outcome.

Add a Project Image (optional, but powerful):

  • Upload a strong visual that represents the work (up to 640 × 640 px / 2MB, JPG/PNG/WEBP).

Add Supporting Documents (optional):

  • Upload documents that build trust and context, like certificates, case studies, one-pagers, or PDFs.

Strong project listings and visuals make your profile easy to scan and help clients feel confident reaching out.

Use the Documents section to show proof of your work:

  • Upload project images (up to 640 × 640 px / 2MB, JPG/PNG/WEBP)
  • Upload supporting files like certificates, case studies, and PDFs

A few well-chosen uploads add credibility and make your experience clear at a glance.

Step 10: Review & Publish Your Profile

Before publishing:

  • Ensure all key sections are complete
  • Check for clarity and accuracy
  • Confirm your contact and messaging settings are active

A complete profile performs better in search and generates stronger leads.

Tips for a Standout Expert Profile

A strong profile makes it easier for the right clients to find you, trust you, and reach out with confidence.

  • Be specific, avoid vague descriptions, using too many industry specific acronyms or overly technical language
  • Keep your profile updated as your experience and certifications grow
  • Focus on client-centered value by clearly explaining how you help and what you deliver
  • Respond promptly to inquiries to build trust and momentum
  • Treat your profile as a professional landing page you can confidently share

The clearer and more complete your profile is, the more effectively it turns your expertise into real opportunities.
