Have a large product catalog? Don’t worry, you don’t need to upload each item one by one. Surch Foods makes it easy to import your entire product line in bulk using our Excel template. In just a few steps, you can get your products live, searchable, and in front of the right buyers - fast.

Step 1: Download the Surch Excel Template
Head to the Company Menu section in your supplier dropdown and click on Import in the top right corner.
Click “Download Template” to receive the official Excel file that includes all the fields Surch requires.
Acceptable formats are CSV or Excel.
Pro Tip: Don’t change the column headers - our system uses them to match data during the upload.
Step 2: Fill Out the Template
Populate each row with a different product and be as thorough as possible. The more complete your product information, the better your visibility in search. Fields may include:
- Product Name
- Description
- Ingredients
- Type (Products, Ingredient, Packaging)
- Category
- Storage (ambient, refrigerated, frozen)
- Certifications (e.g., Organic, Kosher)
- Minimum Order Quantity and Unit of Measure
- Supplier Code (your internal company product code)
- Serving Size
- Keywords
- Certifications

Make sure to follow the format of the sample template. Leave no spaces between the commas except for within the name. Ex. Loose leaf,whole leaf,organic.
Step 3: Upload the Completed File
Once your template is filled in:
- Save the file as a CSV or an Excel file on your computer.
- If using Google Sheets, go to File > Download > Microsoft Excel (xlsv) or Comma Separated Values (csv).
- Return to the Import section.
- Click on Choose File. Select your completed sheet. Click Import.
Our system will validate the data and flag any missing or incorrectly formatted fields for your review before publishing.
Step 4: Review & Edit
After import, you’ll see your products appear in draft mode. From here, you can:
- Add product images
- Preview each listing
- Make edits or updates before publishing
When you're ready, simply click Publish to make each listing live.
