You want to source efficiently, make confident decisions so you can focus on the rest of your work. Not on chasing specs, following up on emails or walking trade shows hoping to find the right contact.

The Problem

The food industry was not built to make sourcing easy. Information is scattered, certifications are hard to find and the best suppliers often invisible unless you already know where to look.

Every day spent searching shortens your timeline, increases risk, and keeps better options just out of reach.

We've spent 17 years on your side of the search - in retail product development and R&D in manufacturing. We know what it costs when sourcing slows you down because we lived it. It's why Surch exists.

Got Questions? We've Got Answers.

No fine print, no surprises. Just straight answers about how Surch works for Buyers.

Because if you're going to change how you source, you deserve to know exactly what you're signing up for.

Is it really free for buyers?

Yes - completely. Creating a profile and searching the platform costs nothing. Suppliers pay to list; buyers search and connect for free.

How is Surch different from just Googling a supplier?

Google isn't built for food sourcing. Results are buried, supplier websites are hard to compare and certifications are nowhere to be found. Surch gives you verified profiles, specs and certifications in one place so you're evaluating suppliers, not hunting for their information.

How long does it take to find what I'm looking for?

Filter by category, certification and keyword and you'll have a shortlist of relevant, certified suppliers in under a minute - with specs, certifications and a direct message button already in front of you. No follow-up email required to get started.

How do I know suppliers are legitimate?

Suppliers complete a full profile including certifications, product specs and company details before their listing goes live. By the time you find them, the vetting is already done. You're not guessing, you're evaluating.

I already have supplier relationships. Why would I need this?

Your existing network is valuable - but it has limits. Surch helps you discover suppliers outside your current contacts, which means better pricing options, more innovative products and backup suppliers when your current ones can't deliver.

What can I actually search for on Surch?

If you're sourcing ingredients, packaging or finished products across retail, foodservice or manufacturing - it's all here. One search instead of five tabs, three directories and a stack of business cards. Search certified ingredients, packaging, products and connect with food industry experts — all in one place.

Co-Packing Case Studies: What Growing Food Brands Get Right

If you spend any time around growing food brands, you start to notice a pattern. The products are good. Demand is building. Retail interest shows up, or foodservice volumes start climbing, or a private label opportunity lands at exactly the wrong moment. Then production becomes the problem. That is usually the point where co-packing stops sounding like a backup plan and starts looking like a smart operating model. Co-packing means a specialized manufacturer produces and packages a product for a brand. On paper, that sounds simple. In practice, it can change almost everything. A strong co-packing relationship can improve consistency, reduce labor pressure, shorten time to market, and help a team stop spending all day on batching, filling, labeling, and compliance paperwork. The brands that get this right are not handing over control. They are deciding where their time matters most.

The Solo vs Co-Founder Debate (For Food Industry Founders)

Nearly 65% of high-growth startups fail due to co-founder conflict. Yet solo founders take 3.6 times longer to scale. For food industry entrepreneurs, that tension is especially sharp. Between managing perishable inventory, staying ahead of FDA regulations, and negotiating volatile supplier contracts, the stakes of getting your founding structure wrong are unusually high. The decision of going solo vs. co-founder isn't simply about splitting equity or sharing the workload. It fundamentally shapes how your business responds to disruption, attracts investment, and sustains growth over time. Whether you're launching a specialty food brand or scaling a manufacturing operation, understanding the real tradeoffs before committing to either path could be the most important strategic choice you make.
